In WV many of our libraries are directed and manned by individuals who do not possess a graduate degree in library science. We get on-the-job training, seek supplementary training like PLT program and WVLC workshops, and stay abreast of current topics in the field of library science - but many still feel that one cannot do this work effectively without the MLS degree.

What do you think?

The PLT Major Courses

Hello all - as you may know already the PLT major was approved in the fall. This spring, several new courses are being developed PLUS the advisory board and schedule of classes were formally set up. If you want a sneak peek, please review the PLT info here: http://users.marshall.edu/~brooks/PLT-revision-2006.htm

This is in draft format, but we are pretty sure the committee will approve. If there are any changes, I'll keep you informed! Let me know if you have questions. Hopefully in the spring, I will officially become an advisor so I can assist PLT students with their registrations and advising needs. YAY!!!
