SPRING 2008 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Marshall Community and Technical College Recruitment, Retention, and Readmission Committee will be awarding four $1,000 scholarships to Marshall Community and Technical College students. Scholarship money will be awarded for the Spring 2008 semester. The following are the criteria:

1. The student must have completed 12 credit hours toward his/her Certificate or Associate Degree (excluding developmental classes).

2. The student must be a full-time Community College student pursuing a Certificate or Associate Degree in Spring 2008.

3. The student must have at least a 2.9 Marshall Community and Technical College GPA.

4. A faculty member in the major program must endorse (by signature) the student’s application.

5. The student must write and submit at least a one page, double spaced, typed essay to the Recruitment, Retention, and Readmission Committee on the following topic: “This scholarship will impact my life and help me reach my educational goals by…”

An application form is attached for you to duplicate for your students who are interested. The due date for application is November 2, 2007, to Billie Brooks, Associate Dean and Director of Student Services in the Community College Advising Center. Please get involved to help identify your students who should apply. Thanks so much!
